Ideas arrive at the worst moments. Inbox zero for tasks means capturing fast and sorting later, so nothing gets lost and nothing clutters your plan.

1. Capture without deciding

Use quick add with ⌘ ⇧ A from anywhere. Do not choose a page, a date or a priority yet. The only job is to get the thought out of your head.

2. Sort in one sitting

Once a day, open Inbox and give every item one of three outcomes.

  • Do it now if it takes two minutes
  • Move it to a page with a date
  • Delete it

3. Leave it empty

An empty Inbox is a signal that your system is trusted. When it is empty, you know nothing is hiding, and you can focus on Today.
